Well let's just call this a start of a beautiful friendship. I know I've been on deviantart a while now but not really put a lot of effort into maintaining or developing it really. But now that I'm out of school, have more time to work on maintaing a community I'd love to keep going. So here is my 2nd attempt for the evening of developing myself and pushing forward to raise a garden of watchers. The first being the about me and now a blog!

Things to do, though not tonight:
1. Icon
2. Banner
3. Flavor to the site.
4. Update w/ pieces from my Winter and Spring quarter.
5. Update w/ new pieces from my digital explorations.
6. Contests contests and more contests.

I really expect a sample portfolio to be created soon and with work coming down in importance, a summer job is needed. I suppose now would be a good time to to start making things people would want to buy!

For anyone who reads this, please leave a response on something you might like to see drawn. Free jobs, just looking for ideas :)

Hello, my name is Joe. I'm a recent graduate of Western Washington University,. I studied Fine arts, and with little experience joined into the digital art world. I chose a traditional basis because I figured if I can do charcoal, watercolor, and paint I could use a program that has an 'undo' function.

Currently, I am working getting more adept at advanced functions of photoshop. Note: I haven't posted anything from my last two quarters of school. I'm missing a digital camera to get some of the larger pieces up. Aiming to get that up soon.

That's great to hear, and I'm glad you like it! I'm mostly self-taught when it comes to painting. I went to art school, but we learned mostly about marketing and advertising.

That tutorial is about the most concise and well thought out tutorial I've seen. Not to mention nearly identical to what I was taught at university. Kudos.
